Visual Artist & Youth Worker

Working with country and young ones.

Ngiyan Yabini?

Who Yabini?

Yabini Kickett is an artist with direct connection to Kickett, Hayden and McGuire families of the Bibbulmun Noongar Nation. Her practice explores connection to place through ongoing relationships with plant and animal knowledge, kinship and kaatadjin (learning-by-doing) passed through family and community. Working intergenerationally and across mediums, Yabini values process-led making and collaboration. Her work often emerges through embracing experimentation, exchange and hands-on opportunities as pathways for deepening relationships to place, material and community.
